A year of observing the cable car on the Italian side of Mont Blanc before the closure in 2020. A place where the machinery, workers and users are the main players in a spectacle designed to overcome the limitations of modern times. While it portrays the daily routine and the behaviour of visitors, the film explores the relationship between technology, tourism and mountaineering, cities and modernity, observation and image, and representation and experience.

Eleonora Mastropietro
A geographer and researcher at the University of Milan, she attended the writing documentary-making course at the Civica Scuola di Cinema in Milan. She supervised production of the film NINÌ by Gigi Giustiniani and Raffaele Rezzonico (Gold Gentian prize at the 64th Trento Film Festival).
