SPINDRIFT follows world-renowned mountain climber Barry Blanchard who has had an accident and suffered a serious brain injury. In this unconscious state he reflects on his life and tries to resolve what has happened, why his life of adventure, love and tragedy has led to this, and whether he will wake up from this shattered dream.

Ivan Hughes is a documentary filmmaker. His first feature, IN THE SHADOW OF THE CHIEF, won People’s Choice award at the Whistler film Festival and Grand Prize for best film at the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival. Since then he has directed documentaries for CBC, PBS, Knowledge Network, ZDF/Arte.
