The general meeting of members October 3rd, 2023, officially established the composition of the new Executive Board, which will remain in office for the next three years.
There are six new faces on the board, which has a majority of female members.
The ordinary general meeting of members of the “City of Trento” International Mountain and Exploration Film Festival took place on Tuesday 3 October, with an agenda including the formation of the Executive Board in office for the three-year period 2024-2026, and the appointment of the Board of Auditors. The outgoing Management Committee has led the Festival out of the difficult years of the pandemic, handing over to the new members a festival in good health, following the success of the 70th anniversary and a 2023 edition that definitively marked a new start, marked by considerable success in terms of audience and the full involvement of the city, as well as highly important innovations such as the participation of MontagnaLibri at Turin International Book Fair.
According to the wishes of the members (the Municipality of Trento, Club Alpino Italiano, the Municipality of Bolzano, Trento Chamber of Commerce and Bolzano Chamber of Commerce) Alfred Aberer, Mara Baldo, Monica Brenga, Alberto Brodesco, Roberto De Martin, Nicoletta Favaron, Marco Albino Ferrari, Giorgio Gajer, Heidi Gronauer, Mauro Leveghi, Alberto Pattini, Fausta Slanzi and Elena Tonezzer were elected for the forthcoming three years. There are no less than six new names: Monica Brenga, President of CAI Cinematography Centre and Film Library; Alberto Brodesco, PhD in Audio-visual Studies at the University of Udine, and research assistant at the Department of Sociology and Social Studies at the University of Trento; Marco Albino Ferrari, author, screenwriter and journalist, founder of the magazine “Meridiani Montagne” and winner of the ITAS Mountain Book Prize; Heidi Gronauer, Director of the ZeLIG school in Bolzano; Alberto Pattini, poet, local history and art historian, formerly Chairman of Trento Municipal Council; and Elena Tonezzer, a local historian and researcher at the Fondazione Museo Storico del Trentino. The following members were re-elected: Mara Baldo, farming entrepreneur, who replaced the late lamented Gabriele Calliari at the beginning of the year; Roberto De Martin, former President of the Festival; Mauro Leveghi and Nicoletta Favaron, respectively retiring Festival Chair and Vice-Chair; the Director of Bolzano Chamber of Commerce, Alfred Aberer; the President of Alto Adige Mountain and Cave Rescue Service, Giorgio Gajer; and the journalist Fausta Slanzi.
The members of the Board of Auditors were also elected, with Luigi Brusadin, Antonio Giulini and Giulia Pegoretti acting as standing auditors for the next three years, and Guido Toller as alternate auditor.
The first meeting of the committee is planned in the next few weeks, the agenda including the appointment of the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson, defining of the Festival’s organisational structure and other points for discussion in relation to the 72nd edition of the Festival, scheduled from 26 April to 5 May 2024.
