FRANZ DANTONE. FOTOGRAFO DELLE DOLOMITI (1839-1909)
The emergence of a collective ideal.

Images by one of the first photographers of the Dolomites, Franz Dantone Pascalin, who by climbing up to lands still unknown at the time, was among the first to represent the sublime beauty of the Dolomitic landscape. He thus contributed to defining the collective idea of these mountains, something that was to be decisive, exactly a year after his death, in inclusion of the Dolomites in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
