A major exhibition on the history of the Olympics and Olympism, to reflect on the meaning of the Olympic Games and the relationship between the Olympics and the local area. To accompany the forthcoming Olympics and Paralympics, which will take place over an extensive area in the north of Italy in 2026, the three-year project “Connecting Links” has transformed Le Gallerie into a major cultural hub recounting the present, past and future of this event. The exhibition itinerary is made up of a series of large immersive exhibits dealing with various subjects, from the birth of the modern Olympics to Olympism, paying particular attention to winter Olympic disciplines. On the broader theme of “Measurement”, considerable space has been given to how the “body” of the sportsperson, “timekeeping science” and the “search for speed” have evolved during the history of Olympic sport.

• The exhibition itinerary has been created by the Fondazione Museo Storico del Trentino and the Autonomous Province of Trento in cooperation with Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 and with the support of the Olympic Museum.
