Rural Ireland, 1981. A quiet, neglected nine-year-old girl is sent away from her dysfunctional family to live with in-laws for the summer. At first a bit intimidated by her new environment, she then blossoms in their care—but in this house where there are meant to be no secrets, she discovers one.

Colm Bairéad was born in Dublin in 1981 and was raised bilingually in Irish and English. He studied film at the Dublin Institute of Technology.
