A TV crew from the Tibetan prefecture of China reaches a farmer high in the mountains who has captured a rare snow leopard after the disappearance of nine of his rams. Along with them is a young monk who is convinced that he has a special, spiritual connection to the animal world, and to the captured animal in particular. The farmer, however, will not listen to reason, for him the leopard must be put down, otherwise his herd will lose out. SNOW LEOPARD is a late film by director Pema Tseden.

A director, writer e translator, Pema Tseden, who died aged 53 in 2023, was a major figure in Tibetan film culture. He was a member of the Directors Guild of China, China Film Association, and China Film Literature Association. His films are shown and acclaimed all over the world.
