LES EXILES DU NOUVEAU QUEBEC
Canada / 1995 / 52'
In the summer of 1953 the Canadian government moved seven Inuit Eskimo families from North Quebec to the extreme Arctic area, with the promise of better hunting and fishing grounds and therefore a better life. They were also told they could return after two years if they could not adapt to the new life. After two years 35 other joined them and others are waiting for their turn. The film is a record of the survivors, with scenes of northern life and some film library sequences, telling the sad story of these exiles.
