CARLO MAGNO. LA LEGGENDARIA SPEDIZIONE DA BERGAMO IN VALLE CAMONICA E TRENTINO
Italy / 2000 / 26'
The documentary proposes a different way of learning about the deeds of Charlemagne 1200 years after his coronation. A view of life seen and revisited, taking the cue from a legend preserved in a splendid church standing on a rock in North Italy, a real casket of art and history in the Adamello Brenta Nature Park. In the little church of Santo Stefano in Carisolo, in Trentino, there is a fresco of Charlemagne’s legendary expedition. The painting dates back to 1500 and is the work of Simone Baschenis di Averara. It portrays the route taken by Charlemagne and his army and provides an opportunity to travel between legend and history… to understand the past and promote the future.
