OMO-CESTA DO PRAVEKU

Pavol Bàrabaš

Slovakia / 2002 / 68'

The film centres on the descent of the river Omo, a tributary of Lake Turkana that rises in the Ethiopian highlands, on board a rafting dinghy.
The team of explorers travel through places of extraordinary beauty and unspoilt countryside, but at the same time this is a journey into the past.
The region crossed by the river is one of the areas where human beings originated and the meeting with some populations still living in a primitive state takes the group back to the primordial beginnings of our society.
Among the rapids, hippopotamuses and mosquitoes, which leave the explorers an unwelcome souvenir, splendid scenes of great effect flow with the waters of the African river.
