I GIGANTI TRA LE NUVOLE
Italy / 2008 / 22'
This film was shot on the 140th anniversary of the foundation of the Agordina section of the Italian Alpine Club, which coincides with the 40th anniversary of the first winter ascent of the Jori: Andreoletti – Zanutti route (1921) on the North face of Agner, made by Reinhold and Heinrich Messner and Sepp Mayerl in February 1968. Mount Agner, 2,871 metres, in the Group of Pale di S. Martino is a rock giant which offers a superb climb on the highest wall of the Dolomites and has always aroused great mountaineering interest.
He was born in Fusine, Sondrio in 1964 and lives in Agordo where he has worked as a professional naturalist photographer since the early ‘90s. Later he dedicated himself to video shooting and editing. A passionate traveller, he captures with his video camera his experiences and stories about local culture. His filmography includes: L'altra montagna, Agordino Dolomiti - Arti di un tempo, Gocce di luce, Ski-roll e non solo and Viaggio in Mongolia.
