The voice of water

from the alps to lake Geneva

STUDI E DOCUMENTAZIONI
Let us jump headlong into the invigorating Alpine waters of the Valais. A total immersion, so to speak from the Alps to Lake Geneva, which will give us the unique opportunity to experience some surprising natural phenonema. Rather than merely following only one narrative thread, this book seeks to uncover for the reader a wide range of themes and motifs ranging from glaciers to underground rivers, highlighting also the unique array of ecosystems along the Rhône, all of which depend upon water. The water cycle in the Valais follows a sustained rhythm, a kind of seasonal ballet, though punctuated by unexpected events. Far from the serenity of a lullaby, the behavior of water in the Valais is anything but that of a long, tranquil river.
