Dear applicants,
Thank you for participating in the selection process for the 74th Trento Film Festival. I regret to inform you that your film will not be part of this edition’s programme. All submitted titles are carefully evaluated by myself and a specialised selection committee, and there are many reasons why a film is chosen or not — among these, of course, the relevance to our themes (in our case: the mountains, exploration, mountaineering, and the relationship with nature), the cinematic quality, as well as the balance within the programme alongside the other selected titles. And there will always be, in any selection, a subjective factor that is both inevitable and beyond appeal.
On behalf of the selection committee as well, I would like to thank you once again, because every discussion, for every film, has been valuable to us and to the festival.

Gentilissime, Gentilissimi

Vi ringrazio per aver partecipato alla selezione del 74. Trento Film Festival. Mi spiace comunicarvi che il vostro film non farà parte del programma di questa edizione. Tutti i titoli proposti e iscritti sono sottoposti a un’attenta valutazione da parte mia e di una commissione di selezione specializzata, e sono molteplici i motivi per i quali un film viene scelto oppure no, tra questi ovviamente l’attinenza ai temi – nel nostro caso la montagna, l’esplorazione, l’alpinismo, il rapporto con la natura – il valore cinematografico ma anche l’equilibrio all’interno del programma con gli altri titoli presenti. E resta, in ogni selezione, un criterio soggettivo inevitabile e insindacabile.


Anche a nome dei selezionatori torno però a ringraziarvi, perché ogni confronto, per ogni film, è stato prezioso per noi e per il festival.
