Assunta and Erminia, mother and daughter respectively, are two elderly women who live in an isolated site on the highest mountain in the Puglia region. From here they look out over Faeto, a small village where Father Antonio performs the duties and functions required by a village with a population of six hundred. While he is busy with house blessings, going from door to door, on the mountain Assunta and Erminia take care of themselves, their livestock and their increasingly rickety house as well as they can.
