A civil war was raging in the summer of 1944, during the 45 days of the Montefiorino partisan Republic. In the mountains between Emilia and Tuscany, a controversial episode took place involving Nello Pini's group, guilty of killing a group of fascist militiamen without trial. PAURA DELL'ALBA is a story set in the silence of the high ridges in the Apennines, a hybrid form combining abstraction and the urgency of memory relating to the delicate period in which the identity of the Italian Republic was taking shape.
