THE POWER OF MACHINES
Humanity, the environment and technology in 16th century Trentino
The first half of the 16th century was a period in which mechanical ingenuity and technological innovation profoundly influenced the economy, society and the environment. The exhibition takes you on a journey of discovery through the many, often ambivalent, implications of these profound changes.
From the invention of printing to astronomical exploration, from maps to everyday objects, from medicine to agriculture: a thematic itinerary through the rooms of the Palazzo delle Albere, where original objects, rare volumes and ancient instruments tell centuries-old stories of transformation, innovation and resistance.
