Ertl has resumed the life of the Amazon - sailing up the tributaries of the Amazon River by boat, with his courageous wife Monica and two companions - fixing characteristic moments of animal and plant life on celluloid. The tone of the story is often that of an analytical study. In the equatorial forests populated by caimans, snakes, colorful birds, marvelous butterflies and deadly tarantulas, the encounter with the reddish-skinned savages armed with long, improbable arrows seems almost unreal. And, even more, the market in the remote village acquires the flavor of the impossible.
