GLETSCHER UND IHRE STRÖME
Alfred Ehrhardt
Germany / 1962 / 10'
The descent of the ice from the peaks to the plains, with the associated transport of earthy debris, stratification, and then melting and precipitation of water downstream. Waterfalls, streams and rivers are born, the ice is no more than a now liquid memory shattering into a thousand rivulets tending to the sea surrounding Iceland. Winter catches the rush of water and stops it in a white cobweb clinging to the earth.
