Sir Edmund Hillary's expedition to the Sherpa people in the remote Khumbu region of Nepal, a Himalayan mountain range. The expedition pursued not only scientific but also social goals. Under his leadership, an aqueduct was built in the village of Khumjung and two schools were opened.
