The documentary brings together footage from four films in a series that illustrates the lives of two nomadic Aboriginal families. The "Western Desert," located in central Australia, is one of the last regions where Aboriginal people still maintain a traditional nomadic existence. These people have lived in the desert for thousands of years, but today only three or four families remain in an area roughly the size of Italy. Dunlop wanted to capture this way of life before it disappears completely. The documentary presents the members of a family group as they emerge in their individuality and in their relationships with one another.
