In the deserts of South Arabia, there is no rhythmic succession of seasons, nor rising moisture that nourishes the plants. Nothing but arid lands, where temperature variations are the only sign of the passing of the years.
The documentary film is dedicated to Wilfred Thesiger, the last of the great English desert explorers, who lived for five years with the Bedouins of South Arabia. From this experience, one of the masterpieces of desert literature, "Arabian Sands," was born.
