Six Czechoslovakian alpinists from Ostrava, L. Horka, V. Starkala, J. Martinek, P. Gribek, M. Motycka, M. Novak, organized an expedition to the Swiss Alps. Their aim was to climb Eiger which they began in February 1976 in unfavorable weather conditions. For 16 days they struggle against the cold, snowy and stormy weather, and only at the beginning of March did they managed to reach the peak.
