Edwald Ruf visited the Zanskar region in west Tibet during the winter of 1975. On that journey, after having crossed the entire region over dangerous bridges suspended above the river Zanskar, and having passed through the deep gorges hollowed out between the glaciers and the mountains where the waterway reaches the Indo, Ewadal Ruf considerd a risky project: to travel the dangerous river in a rubber dinghy.
