In a television series that the RTSI has dedicated to the problems of Alps, the rural world is represented not as a pesant's myth but as an alternative way of life, a culture based on agriculture where the villages symbolizes the magic centre of the world. The film consists of three episodes: a gathering in Val d'Aosta, returning from pasture land in Val d'Anniviers, in the Vallese canton, and family life in Alto Adige.
