The film, made in Verdon with the collaboration of four climbers, Hans Peter Eisendle, Gerhard Koenig, Maurizio Lutzenberger and Oswald Santin, dwells on the reasons for free climbing seen almost as an ideology, as a way of living. The four climbers recount what they feel when climbing the eighth and ninth grade of difficulty. They talk about their relationship with the mountain and mountaineering ad they question each other about this sport which they define as a game.
