In recent years free climbing has become one of the most popular sports in the world. Its main centre is the Yosemite Valley in California because of the perpendicular granite rocks that can be found here. The film shows the particular technique that the climbers use when they have to rely on their skill and strength alone, which is entirely different from the methods that an alpinist uses for his safety. The moutainous scenery of the Yosemite National Park, together with the fauna and splendid flora, forms the background of this extremely difficult sport.
