Marco Albarello, the first Italian world champion of Nordic skiing, is a non-commissioned officer of the Alpine soldiers. He is one of many who, towards the end of the winter, tests his competitive efficiency and that of the division during some international meetings in which not only the Italian alpine soldiers take part but also those of allied forces. These meetings, called CASTA, Skiing Championships of Alpine Troops include tactical manoeuvres and sports trial.
