The documentary shows the main characteristics of the biggest active volcano in Europe. Its most important aspect is the geological one. But Etna is not only a volcano; it is also a very green mountain. Many species of animals and plants live in the 500000 hectares of the recently established park. The film portrays a climb to discover Etna, from the sea, out of which the volcano rose, to the craters at the top. An exploration made to record its history and the thousan forms of life existing on it.
