The film illustrates the scientific preparation, with special laboratory tests of efficiency, of a Soviet alpinist team who want to try and cross the four peaks of Kangchenjunga, the third biggest mountain in the worlds. Many of these alpinists have already been to Himalaya. As for all disciplines, the selection of the men for this expedition is severe and is held on Communism Peak in Pamir which the alpinists have to climb up and down three times. Even well trained USSR alpinists have to undergo these tests.
