The short film is a reportage of a journey made by an expedition from Trento to the island of Svalbard on the 80° parallel in the polar region.
The members of the expedition, led by Giorgio Montanari, were all Trentine explorers. The expedition recorded a constant temperature of 20° below zero, a deserted ice covered landscape with very little fauna and a few scattered groups of men who work in the coal mines.
