An Italian expedition reaches the Baffin land, in the Canadian arctic, to accomplish several objectives. One of those is to conciliate the skill and escitement of flying slowly, romatically and often uncontrollably in an air balloon with the fast, technical and rational flying of two pago-jets, examples of the most up-to-date, compact and manageable small aeroplanes ever built so far. Some eskimoes collaborated with the expedition both on the air balloons and with their motor-sledges that gave the air expedition assisctance from the ground.
It was a happy occasion for five friends to visit the ice deserts on the borders of the north pole, to meet the fascinating polar bear and to experiment a different way of travelling in a beautiful environment that is not without its dangers.
