A group of Hungarian geologists, cartographers and researchers visited the area of the Aeolia islands and in particular Stromboli to observe the activity in the explosive centres of the craters where the so-called "volcanic bombs" are formed. Prticular attention was given to transformation of the lava after the lavaflows come in contact with the sea water.
