Prof. Giuseppe de Cariolis is a paleontologist who is convinced that hidden in the maze of the Tsingy De Bemara, there still exist an example of Aepiornis. Santini, a well known documentarist, asks the professor to go with him on an expedition to look for this mithical animal. Together they descend the river crowded with frightening crocodiles and then ventures among the grottes and gorges in what is considered to be the largest calcareous labyrinth in the world. A quarrel separates prof. de Cariolis form Santini who comes to a tragic end. Humor and adventure are combined in this imaginery semi-serious tale set in completly real and esotic scenery.
