A group of geologists, anthropologists, film-makers and graphic computer technicians worked for seven years on this film which explores the large ring of volcanoes surrounding the Pacific ocean. We are shown the spectacular volcanic eruption of Mount St. Helene, Navidad in Chile, Sakurajima in Japan and Merapi in Indonesia. The aerial photography brings us frighteningly close to the most violent eruption and the sophisticated and exeptional computerized animation explains the hisotry of he formation of the geological forces that lead to sismic and volcanic phenomena.
