In so-called "Saxon Switzerland", which includes sandstone mountains in Saxony, the strict rules disciplining climbing permit jumping from one peak to another when, naturally, they are near enough. These jumps, also mentioned in guidebooks, are classified in four gradesof difficulty. The film shows how jumps of 1 to 3 grades of difficulty and a climber who tries to cross the so-caled "Langen Israel" a 4th grade jump that has been attempted only twice or three times in the last ten years and usually unsuccessfully. The scene is set in Bastei,a part of Saxon Switzerland known throghout the world.
