The documentary describes the Adamelo Brenta Nature Park.
The rigorously scientific commentary alternates with historical digressions making the itinerary through the various geographical landscapes of this large and variegated protected area of western Trentino more pleasurable. The first part of the film is chiefly about the Adamello-Presanella mountain group with its active glacial phenomena and the force of its waterways. The second part describes the Brenta group where the glacial erosion is added to karst modelling. The influence of the Rhaetian Alps and Lake Garda accentuates bioclimatic contrasts of this mountain group and favours unique forms of animal and plant life in the Alps.
