AMCHI, MEDECINE TRADITIONNELLE TIBETAINE

France / 1996 / 52'
The documentary was partly filmed at Dharamsala in India and then in the lower region of Mustang, in the heart of the Himalayas, together with Amchi Tsampa Ngawang a Buddhist teacher and famous doctor. It brings to light a medicine long overshadowed by Chinese and Indian medicine. Amchi shows a world in which the concept of illness is considered from a Buddhist point of view, that is as the result of erroneous behaviour caused by ignorance of the law ruling universal harmony: the Karma.
