In 1974, the Trentino alpinist, Cesare Maestri, went to Rouwenzori, in Africa, to follow the tracks of the expedition the Duke of Abruzzi led at the beginning of this century. He chose to go through the fertile and spectacular country of Uganda to reach Africa’s third tallest mountain. From the tourist-explorative approach to one of solidarity: this is the subject of «Return to Uganda», a short film made from a number of reportages on the West Nile, on the borders of Sudan and Zaire. Here development, supported mainly by Trentino voluntary associations, is hindered by dramatic circumstances.
