The educational documentary explores in clear and simple language the various aspects of the life of the trout which inhabit the Alpine region. Using film taken in the field with special instruments, the most important aspects of the ecology and behaviour of this freshwater fish are examined. It took three years of research and experimentation to put the film together, because of the difficulties of filming the fish in their natural habitat and because their reproductive period is extremely short.
