On 7 April 2010 Enrico Brizzi and his team left from the most northerly peak in Italy, the Vetta d’Italia in Alto Adige, and walked for 90 days and more than 2000 km until they reached Capo Passero in Sicily, the most southerly point in the Italian Republic. "I want to see where Italy starts, where it ends and everything there is in between" declared Brizzi at the beginning of 2010, announcing the itinerary of the great journey on foot. "We believe that the best way to get to know a place is by traversing it on foot and we wish to celebrate the anniversary of Italian unification by crossing Italy using footpaths and secondary roads, to explore the face of our country 150 years after its unification".
