Feliciano is a young indigenous Peruvian who has spent most of his life in a small mountain village overlooking the Sacred Valley. Like all of the other members of his community, he grew up working the land dreaming of a better life in the city. The film tells of a year in his life, from the sowing to the harvest, until he finds a job as a porter on the steep slopes of the Inca Trail at the service of foreign excursionists. Feliciano’s life interweaves with the complex history of the Incas. He is torn between the love for his home and the work he learnt from his father and the desire for a better future for his child.
