Ahmet, the son of a rich pasha, wishes to bring his dissolute lifestyle to an end. He has promised his father this on his deathbed. When he meets the beautiful Enis at the bazaar, he believes that he has found true love. However the girl’s father jealously watches over his treasure and Ahmet, according to tradition, has no alternative but to kidnap her... However the boy’s happiness does not last long, as he discovers his beloved with a friend. Ahmet misunderstands the situation and fate follows its inevitable course... or perhaps not? The first full-length film set and filmed in Istanbul, but using only Austrian actors, Enis Aldjelis was the film debut of the future director of the famous series on Sissi. A nitrate film copy of the film was found by the Dutch EYE Film Institute and restored by the Filmarchiv in Vienna.
