The world famous story about Heidi, the little girl from the mountains, is narrated in a nostalgic journey through the Alps by different people recollecting the story from their own memories. This journey is contrasted by pictures of playing children and footage from the Japanese cartoon Heidi. Heidis Land takes us to beautiful landscapes we associate with Heidi and explores how most of us adults look back at childhood with a longing feeling. We'd like to go back to this place but know that we can't.
