A group of experts in finance, construction, energy, aviation, communication, ecology and the mountains face a difficult challenge: planning and constructing a “sustainable” refuge on the Aiguille de Goûter, at an altitude of 3800 metres and a short distance away from Mount Blanc. The film follows the development of the project and the construction of the futuristic building in wood and steel. A prototype suspended in mid air, which must guarantee the comfort and safety of 120 people, protecting them from 240 km/h winds and temperatures which can reach 40° C below zero.

Bernard Germain
A director, writer and alpine guide, he has participated in numerous expeditions in the Alps and to mountains outside Europe. A researcher in filmmaking at the Sorbonne University in Paris, he is Editor-in-Chief of the magazine of Club Alpino Francese. He is currently involved in directing “L'Europe des 27 par ses sommets”.
