The scope of this short film was to encourage the collection of funds to allow the town to face the First World War. A little girl asks the Befana (legendary witch of Epiphany bearing gifts) for victory in war and the return of her father. The Befana arrives at the snowy front and enters a tent. Here the representation of Italy sings the Italian national anthem to the soldiers and asks the Befana to collect funds. The Befana then goes to collect money with a stocking in factories and in the houses of rich people and farmers.
