In Tibetan funeral rites the body of the deceased is given to the vultures. In the eyes of a westerner this appears to be an unjustifiably grisly, but in this case one should not stop at appearances. For this reason Stéphane Batut decided to watch the filming of a sky burial in the company of a Tibetan, giving rise to a dialogue that can transform the spectator’s understanding.
