The First World War had just ended and salvagers combed the war zones looking for junk to sell in order to feed their families. A century later this junk is by now described as findings and salvagers continue to search for traces of history. When Franco comes across a photo linking a camp to a landscape, his desire to bring a piece of history down to the valley drives him to follow the route in reverse.

Matteo Ferrarini

Matteo Ferrarini was born in Parma in 1983, graduating at the D.A.M.S faculty at the University of Bologna, after which he began to dedicate himself to documentary making. His first work, Jali Road, filmed in Malawi, was selected at the 2011 RIFF, competing in the National Documentary category, and was given special mention at Collecchio Film Festival 2011. Buracos, on the epic story of diamonds in Brazil, competed at the 2013 RIFF.
