The city of Kongthong, on the extreme edge of the frontier with the state of Meghalaya, is probably the only place in the world where people communicate by whistling. A young researcher decides to study this ancient practice at close hand and goes to the place together with a group of explorers: she will discover that on birth every child is given a special sound, together with their name, a sound assigned to the mother and which will subsequently be used for communication.
