Romansh is one of the four official languages of Switzerland and is used by certain groups in the Grigioni Canton. Precisely because of its minority and isolated nature, Romansh has maintained a particular fascination, deeply linked to the peasant world in which it developed. Those speaking Romansh perceive it as a form of resistance to standardisation and a combination of sounds in singular harmony with the mountain landscape.
