Four seasons in the tiny village of Uz, in the north of Portugal, where a community decimated by emigration – but neither resigned nor depressed - lives suspended in the time cycle of farming and animal husbandry. However, in the midst of everyday life the young Daniel succeeds in cultivating his desires, ready to flower on the brief night of the local festival.
